The Lumen Center

For the study of Christianity and Culture

The Lumen Center is a team of Christian scholars working to build bridges between the academy and the church. Launching in Fall 2024, we are comprised of staff and fellows studying the intersection of Christianity and culture who represent diverse disciplines and Christian traditions, united by commitments to a faith-informed life of the mind and service to the university and the church. Our work seeks to advance the Christian intellectual tradition’s honest engagement with contemporary academic conversations for the sake of the mutual betterment of both.

The Lumen Center is located at University Square on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and works alongside Upper House, a nationally leading Christian study center, both as initiatives of the Stephen & Laurel Brown Foundation.
